Updating a story from yesterday, there was a motorcycle crash Saturday evening in Washington County, west of Nashville on Route 15 near Geisel and Hawk Lanes that left a New Minden man with serious injuries.  Illinois State Police say around 5:15 PM, 49-year old Edward K. Johnston Junior, was going west on Route 15 near Hawk Lane when he attempted to pass a vehicle in front of him, while traveling in a no passing zone.  Johnston was not able to negotiate a curve in the roadway and lost control of his motorcycle, causing him to fall off.  He was airlifted from the scene to a Saint Louis area hospital with major injuries.  According to the report, Johnston was not wearing a helmet and alcohol was allegedly involved.  Route 15 was closed for an hour during the crash investigation.
