A Belleville woman. who pleaded guilty to lying about a terminal ovarian cancer diagnosis. returns to court for sentencing on fraud charges. 32-year old Alissa Jackson was a married mother of five when she was charged in June 2014 with bilking thousands of dollars in donations, free food and a donated minivan from hundreds of people on behalf of “Alissa’s Army.” She’s due in Saint Clair County Circuit Court this afternoon after a December guilty plea to two counts of theft of more than $500 by deception. Jackson could be sentenced to probation. But Saint Clair State’s Attorney Brendan Kelly has said he plans to seek the maximum five-year prison sentence.
