The Nashville High School Math Team recently competed in the Illinois Council of Teachers of Mathematics Regional contest at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville in Class 2A and placed 3rd overall.  Math team coach, Bobby Markotay, reported that Andrew Kuhl placed 2nd in Geometry, Tyler Williamson placed 1st in Algebra 2.  Luke Cox placed 3rd in Pre-Calculus.  John Schroeder and William Wychiskalla placed 1st in the Oralist event.  The Junior – Senior 8-Person and Pre-Calculus Teams placed 1st and the Algebra 2 Team placed 2nd overall.  The members of those teams are Jill Guetersloh, Andrew Barczewski, Kailee Remer, Logan Geppert, Quinn Laws, Lucas Morgan, Jamilyn Martin, Brett Roth, Jessica Clark, Tyler Jahnke, Cox, Schroeder, Wychiskalla, and Williamson.  Markotay says the regional competitions are not all done, but he said some have qualified for state and that includes Williamson, Schroeder, Guetersloh, Barczewski, Remer, Geppert, Cox, Laws, Morgan and Jahnke.  But, he says, there might be more, as the cutoff score for state will be posted in a few days.
