The Okawville Village Board met Monday night and Village Clerk Wayland Jasper says it was a quick meeting, but important. They approved of the sale of some kitchen equipment for $1,000 from the Hideout, says Jasper. The Hideout was a restaurant in town that went bankrupt. The business had a C-DAP loan through the village, but after it went bankrupt, the bank got the building and the village got the equipment. There is still a balance of over $12,000 on the C-DAP loan that the village may have to replenish in the fund. The building now is home to Brammeier Chiropractic. The Board also approved of a resolution about Murderers and Violent Offenders Against Youth. This covers those that are sex offenders and are supposed to be registered as to their residence, which is supposed to be so many feet away from schools, parks and any other place children are gathered. Any such offender is grandfathered in with their place of residency, but this will cover anyone new coming to the area. In other news, the Board approved of donating $250 each to Simply the Best and for the After Prom project for the high school.
