The number of animals that need homes that are at the Washington County Animal Shelter has increased in the past week. 1 dog found a home and 3 new dogs were brought in, that being a couple of pit bulls and a Labrador – Schanuzer mix, so the number of dogs is up to 8. Last week there were no cats available, and there are still no cats available for over a month now, meaning there are 8 animals at the shelter that need homes. Dog adoption fee is $30, which includes an A.V.I.D. Identification Chip. In addition, new owners will receive a certificate for $50 off spaying or neutering. Pictures are available online at www.petfinder.com and type in 62263 at the first space in the upper left. The shelter also is a place to drop off aluminum cans for recycling. They then use the money from this to help pay for expenses of housing the cats and dogs. It is located at 17,990 Richview Road in Nashville. For more information, call 327-4800, extension 355.
