It is still prom and graduation season for high school students and the Illinois State Police remind motorists to buckle up, before heading onto Illinois roadways, during the May 13th to 30th Click It or Ticket mobilization.  Troopers will be conducting seatbelt patrols, encouraging all vehicle occupants to wear seatbelts, in order to reduce traffic crash fatalities.  Late night hours are the most dangerous driving hours, when the highest percentage of motorists die in alcohol-involved crashes, and seat belt usage is the lowest.  As of January 1, 2012, seat belt use is required in all seating positions — front seat and back.  The best defense against an impaired driver is a seat belt.  Buckle up, every trip, every time, day or night.
