The Oakdale Grade School Board met Monday night and approved the purchase of 15 new laptop computers for the coming school year. Superintendent Charles Peterson said that the 15 new computers will be purchased through money from the Reserve Educational Assistance Program, bringing the school’s total to 30 laptops which allows for both a mobile computer lab and a regular computer lab. The Board also accepted the quote from Prairie State Insurance Company for workman’s comp and general liability insurance. Three proposals for sheds for the new buses came in, but the Board agreed to table the matter until the next meeting while an ad was placed in the paper for bids on the project. Peterson also announced that the LP pump station for the new buses are installed and just waiting to be wired for power.
