A 3-year-old Arkansas girl who was the subject of a multi-state Amber Alert was found safe Friday night in Grayville, Illinois, near the Indiana border. Arkansas police say Layla Munholland was taken from her great-grandmother’s home in Van Buren early Friday morning. According to police, Layla was taken out the window of her bedroom by her mother Chelsea Munholland, and her mother’s 30-year-old boyfriend, Herbert Allen Thomas. Layla’s mother is currently waiting for a bed in the Arkansas Department of Correction for narcotics and theft charges. Initially it was believed they may have been heading to Kentucky, but were seen on surveillance footage in St. Clair, Mo., when the mother’s debit card was used around 4:26 p.m. Friday at The Gas Mart. A car was also taken from the house. It is a gray charcoal 2006 Toyota Corolla with Arkansas licenses plates. An alert officer on a routine patrol spotted a car matching the description of the suspects’ vehicle and did a traffic stop. Police arrested the two suspects.
