Nashville police officers handled several traffic accidents last week. An officer was on scene about two miles west of Nashville on Thursday for a report of a bunch of corn spilled on the highway. On Friday, a Nashville took a report of a hit and run incident at 465 West Elm that occurred the day before. Police determined that the driver involved was a family member, as Kendall Dodson of Nashville backed into her sister’s parked car. A second incident on Friday at the intersection of East St. Louis Street and North Buhrman was a two-vehicle accident where a vehicle driven by Michelle Grathwohl of Richview turned into traffic in front of an RV driven by Jeffrey Mason of DuQuoin. No injuries were reported. On Saturday, police responded to a two-vehicle accident in the 300 block of West Chester where a vehicle driven by Ruth James of Nashville backed into the driver’s side of a parked vehicle belonging to Tasha Bury of Texas. No injuries were reported. On Sunday, police were on scene on North Mill Street where a vehicle driven by Risdon Melvin of DuQuoin rear-ended a vehicle driven by Byron Stamps of Carlyle. Stamps was stopped at a crosswalk to let pedestrians cross. No injuries were reported.
