Nashville received less than an inch and a half of rain in October, according to monitors at the Nashville Water Plant. After two straight wet months, just 1.46 inches of rain fell in October. Most of that fell on October 20, when 0.85 inches were recorded. That was still more rain than fell in October of 2015 when just 0.6 inches fell for the month. For the year, Nashville has received 40.85 inches of rain, in line with last year’s total of 39.59 inches through the first ten months of 2015. The average high temperatures for the month was 73.3 degrees, with the average low coming in at 51.4 degrees. Temperatures reached a high of 85 degrees on both October 7 and October 8, and the coldest temperatures were recorded on October 22 when the mercury dropped to 36 degrees.
