Total home sales in November in Washington County were down substantially from last year, with only four homes sold in the month. According to information provided by the Illinois Realtors Association, November’s total home sales were down from 11 homes sold in November of 2015, at decrease of more than 63 percent. This comes after a strong month of October, when ten homes sold in the county. The median home price was higher, however, coming in at $80,950, an increase of almost $6,000 from November of 2015. The median is a typical market price where half the homes sold for more and half sold for less. Homes also sold much quicker, averaging 56 days on the market compared with 126 days for the homes sold last year. For the first 11 months of the year, 73 homes have sold in the county, down from 87 sold through November of last year. The median price for the year was up 16 percent to $87,350, and the average time on the market was 104 days compared with 131 days last year. Statewide home sales (including single-family homes and condominiums) in November 2016 totaled 11,341 homes sold, up 14.8 percent from 9,881 in November 2015.
