The Nashville Police Department handled a series of incidents last week. On Thursday, a Nashville officer assisted the Illinois State Police with a traffic stop on Interstate 64. According to the report, the ISP trooper requested assistance with a traffic stop, and the Nashville officer remained on scene while the trooper completed a search of the suspect vehicle. The Washington County Sheriff’s Office requested assistance on Friday, and the Nashville police responded to Black Diamond Road north of Nixon Road where a vehicle struck a power pole. Tri County Electric was on-scene and advised authorities that the vehicle had fled the scene. Police were able to locate debris from the vehicle, including a license plate, and the information was given to the sheriff’s department to make contact with the driver. In the early morning on New Year’s Day, Nashville police assisted the sheriff’s office again, this time on Interstate 64 near mile marker 46. Law enforcement separated the people involved in a fight on a party bus, and a Nashville officer provided a courtesy transport to two individuals to the sheriff’s department to prevent further conflict.
