The Okawville Village Board met Monday night for the regular monthly meeting and approved a proposal from the Illinois Rural Water Association for Geographic information system mapping. The bid was for the project to update the valves and hydrants on the new waterline on Front and High Streets and Hanover Street at a cost of $5,719.75. That project will proceed after the Hanover Street waterline replacement project has been completed. The board also approved the plans for the Plum Creek Sewer Line crossing, and granted Curry and Associates the authority to solicit bids on the project. A subscription to a public alert system through Softline Data was also approved at an annual cost of $325.00 for 4,000 alerts annually. The board also voted to donate $250 to the Simply the Best and after-prom activities at Okawville High School. The next meeting will be held March 27.
