New figures from Illinois tourism, shows that the state saw an increase of 1-million people from last year, with nearly 110-million people visiting our state. 83-percent came for leisure with 17-percent for business purposes. Governor Bruce Rauner released these numbers on Monday, saying that every dollar invested in tourism, generates 9-dollars in economic impact. He also spoke about how proud he is with Illinois resident to bring in out-of-state friends to come and visit the “Land of Lincoln,” and that these tourism dollars are only going to help the economy for our state.
