Nashville and its Girl’s track and field team won the Chester Sectionals by having a final score of 105 this last Friday. In second place was Chester with 95.5 points and Okawville got 3rd with 60 points. Nashville and Okawville will have multiple athletes and teams competing at state, which is this upcoming Thursday through Saturday. Okawville won the 4 by 800-meter relay with Nashville in 2nd. Nashville won the 4 by 400-meter relay. Sydney Schnitker got 2nd in the long jump. Kylie Kozuszek tied for 2nd in the Pole Vault to qualify for state. Carlie Hoffman won the Shot Put with a throw of 35 feet and 5 inches. 6 people got the state qualifications in the triple jump, with Jadah Heidel and Sydney Schnitker getting 3rd and 5th. Josie Middleton got 2nd at the sectional in the Discus throw. Taylor Cook got the state qualifying time requirements after getting 3rd in the 300-meter hurdles. Okawville will have 3 heading to state. 2 of the 3 were in the 800-meter run. Madelyn Tepe and Mallory Unverferht are those two, who got 1st and 2nd in that race. Audrey Jansen tied for 2nd in the high jump to qualify for state.
