A 3-vehicle crash occurred yesterday along I-64, with one of the drivers dying. At 819am on Wednesday, the driver of the 1st vehicle was traveling on I-64, when it is believed that he struck a semi-truck trailer, which then caused him to hit another. The driver of that vehicle was a 72-year-old male from Granite City, Illinois. The 72-year-old male, whose name is not being released at this time, died at the scene by the time EMS and Fire agencies arrived to the scene. Also assisting were the Mascoutah and Lebanon Police Departments. An Illinois State Police Accident Reconstruction Trooper arrived to the scene with a Commercial Motor Vehicle Trooper to help investigate. This was at mile marker 21 and ½ on I-64.
