Local track and field athletes from Nashville competes at the state competition in Charleston for the prelims at state. In the Long Jump, Sydney Schnitker got 10th in her flight and 19th overall. Kylie Kozuszek did not reach the minimum requirement in the Pole Vault. Carlie Hoffman got 3rd in her flight and 21st overall in Shot Put. Jadah Heidel got 6th in her flight and 27th overall in the triple jump. Sydney Schnitker got 10th in the flight and 14th overall in the triple jump. In the Discus Throw, Josie Middleton got 6th in her flight and 30th overall. Nashville’s 4 by 8 team got 8th in their heat and 21st overall. Jadah heidel got 4th in her heat and 15th overall in the 400-meter dash. In the 300-hurdles, Taylor Cook got 4th in her heat and 11th overall. In the 4 by 4, Nashville got 6th in their heat and 21st overall. For Okawville, Audrey Jansen tied for 5th in her heat in the high jump and 17 high jumpers got the requirement of 5 foot 1 inches to head to the finals. In the triple jump, Madison Hackstadt got 11th in her flight and 17th overall. Okawville and their 4 by 8 team got 2nd in their heat and got 3rd overall. They will advance to the state finals tomorrow. In the open 800-meter, Madelyn Tepe got 5th in her heat and 19th overall. Also in the 800-meter run was Mallory Unverferht, she got 7th in her heat and 21st overall. The state finals will be at Eastern Illinois University in Charleston tomorrow.
