The Nashville Education Association took a vote on May 9th and confirmed a majority vote that their membership has no confidence in Superintendent Ernie Fowler. They believe that Nashville Community High School has seen a drastic loss of vision and direction and are worried that the leadership could lead to harm in the district, in the students and in the members and their working conditions. There were three main points that the association made in regard to Fowler’s leadership. According to a press release that was sent to all media, he has shown little support for teachers and departments and their vision of academic excellence for the school. Point number two was that he has displayed poor judgment on his decisions and failed to properly communicate honestly, effectively and professionally among staff members and other district employees. Lastly, he has shown a lack of stewardship in regard to the district and its financial resources. Also, that he has taken little initiative to seek outside sources to obtain more finances for the district.
