Governor Bruce Rauner announced that Senate Democrats are prepared to vote on a bill that would increase income taxes permanently. Rauner posted a video yesterday about how he is not going to sign off any budget agreement that would increase taxes to Illinoisans without a real property tax relief. He mentioned that he wants the citizens to have the ability to control their property taxes and whether they go up or down. Property taxes has been one of the biggest issues for the Senate and the Governor while they are still negotiating on a balanced budget for the 1st time in 2 years. Illinois property taxes are the highest in the county, with Rauner attempting to freeze in order to provide homeowners relief. He continued with stating that if lawmakers want to ask for more from income taxes, then homeowners have the right to have some relief from the possibly rising property taxes.
