A Centralia resident takes police on a pursuit along icy roads on Tuesday, with the chase ending after the man’s vehicle reportedly lost a tire. According to the Centralia Police Department, 20-year-old Marlan Morgan of Centralia passed a squad car along Lincoln Street on Tuesday at a high rate of speed on ice-covered roads. The officer then reportedly saw Morgan run 2 stops signs during the pursuit. While traveling along 7th Street, near Poplar Street, Morgan’s vehicle reportedly struck a curb and his rear passenger-side tire fell off of the vehicle. Morgan continued to travel westbound on 7th Street until his vehicle could not move. He was then taken into custody for allegedly driving while having a suspended license and for having an outstanding Marion County warrant. That warrant for failure to appear on a no-insurance ticket. Morgan was officially charged on Wednesday, with 2 felony counts of aggravated fleeing and eluding police, with his bail set at $5,000. His next scheduled appearance in court will be on February 6th, with his court-appointed lawyer.
