Kaskaskia College and their Board of Trustees met on Monday night for a regular monthly meeting. At that meeting, they announced that the college has agreed into a partnership with the St. John’s School of Nursing in Springfield, which will enable KC Nursing graduates to pursue their Bachelors in Nursing. The board ratified the agreement during its February 26th meeting. Associate Dean of Nursing and Health Sciences, Julie Obermark said that the Nursing Department is pleased to announce this new agreement, which will enable Kaskaskia College Associate Degree Nursing graduates to transfer coursework to St. John’s College of Nursing, while being awarded credit towards a Bachelor’s Degree in nursing. The board also announced that they will begin negotiating with Interim President George Evans, to serve as the 11th president of Kaskaskia College. Chair Bill Hawley also stated that the board has been extremely happy with the direction that the college has been going under the leadership of Evans and feel that Evans is the right person for the job.
