High School basketball in 1A and 2A finished up this past weekend at Peoria. In 1A, Okawville won the state title, after defeating Annawan 59-48. Wyatt Krohne led the way with 18 points, Peyton Harre 14 and Luke Hensler added in 11. Okawville won on Friday night against Goreville 48-33 too. Harre had 16 and Hensler had 12. In the 1A 3rd Place game, Sterling Newman Catholic beat Goreville 65-50. In 2A action, Bloomington Central took home 3rd Place, after beating Pinckneyville 69-61. Chicago Orr won their 2nd consecutive championship in 2A, after beating Winnabego 76-49. It is now baseball and softball season in high school, and we start our coverage tomorrow. The NCHS baseball team will be playing tomorrow at home against Belleville Althoff.
