A man from Sandoval was arrested on Saturday night, in connection to a January felony theft case in Centralia. 22-year-old Anthony Hernandez reportedly fled on foot, after Sandoval police approached him at the Casey’s General Store parking lot. The officer pursued the suspect and ultimately found Hernandez on Wall Street, where he reportedly resisted being handcuffed. He was then taken to the ground, where 2 other officers placed the cuffs on him. Hernandez was then transported to the Centralia Police Department, where he was questioned in the theft of a puppy, a pack of cigarettes and $20 in cash. The dog was later returned to the owner, after it was reported that they were stolen. Hernandez is alleged to have taken the items while visiting a home along South Elm Street in Centralia in January. He had also been listed as a person of interest in the case since the arrest on Saturday.
