The Nashville Community Consolidated School District #49 Board of Education met on Thursday, March 22nd, for a regular monthly meeting. After they accepted the consent agenda, they immediately went into closed session, in order to discuss multiple personnel items. The board went back into open session later on. They approved the revised letter of retirement from Mrs. Braun, who is the current nurse at the school. Her last day will be on September 1st, 2018, with the district. The new nurse will work with Mrs. Braun until her retirement. The certified personnel and non-certified personnel employment list for the next fiscal year were approved on Thursday. They also approved the non-certified personnel reduction in force list, which included Nancy Schmale and Bonnie Phillips. They are employed through the Title 1 preschool grant. The money for that is expected to be received by May or June of this year, but the board approved this item as a precautionary measure. The board also accepted a 1-year leave of absence without pay request from Kate Niedbalski, who is the 3rd grade science and social studies teacher.
