The Washington County Hospital Board met for a regular monthly meeting last night. At that meeting, CEO Nancy Newby announced that the month of March went well. They were good on in-patient days, with ER visits down, out-patient care on budget, with 21 surgery cases. Revenue in March was up by 2.9-percent, with expenses right on budget. Benefits were a little over budget, but contracts of staff were under. Kim Larkin announced that they hospital upgrades one of their IT programs, which will help providers and nurses at the hospital. It has some additional features, but is relatively the same. It was also announced that the Cardiac Rehab room was moved downstairs to a new room. The old Cardiac Rehab room will now be used for OT, which will held add space for Clinicals. The old OT space will now be sued as a break room for staff. Also an office was made for Deb Auld, who was just recently hired by the hospital. The hospital appointed the board committees for the FY18-19 year. Those who were appointed were read last night, but a full list of those appointments will be posted online on a later date. Newby announced the FY18-19 budget for the upcoming year, which was approved. In-patient figures were decreased, with swing beds increased. Also increased was outpatient revenue. All staff will also have a salary increase of 2-percent across the board. The Executive Committee meeting for the Biannual Review of Closed Meeting Minutes was scheduled for May 22nd, before the next meeting at 615pm. Deb Auld was also announced that she will be working 30-hours a week on Monday, Thursday and Friday. She will officially start working with patients on May 9th. The Hospital will also be participating at the Relay for Life in Okawville on May 11th from 5 to 11pm. They will be serving Italian Chicken and nachos during the event. The next board meeting for Washington County Hospital is scheduled for May 22nd at 7pm.
