The Mt. Vernon Police Department and the Jefferson County Crimestoppers are asking for the public’s help in regard to identifying 3 suspects, who are believed to have robbed and beaten up a man at gunpoint last week. According to reports, at around 934pm on Wednesday, May 2nd, the victim was reportedly walking to the Huck’s Convenient Store near 2nd Street, when he was approached by 3 white males walking towards him. The males approached him and asked him for money. After he told the suspects that he had no money on him, he continued to walk. The males then continued to follow him, grabbed him, took his walled and roughed him up. The males were described as 2 white males in their 20s and one white male in his 40s. All 3 were around 6-feet-tall with dark hair. The older male was wearing a bright orange or red T-shirt, with a hat on. The Jefferson County Crime Stoppers is asking for your help, in identifying these 3 offenders. Anyone with information is asked to call the Mt.
