Police from Carbondale are searching for a male suspect, who reportedly tried to abduct a girl on Wednesday morning. According to police, at approximately 8am, a report came in of an attempted abduction along the 700 block of East College Street in Carbondale. Police report that the girl was walking to school on the northside of East College Street, when she saw a male near an apartment complex on the southside of the street. The male reportedly called out the girl multiple times, but she ignored him. He then ran across the street and attempted to grab her around the waist. The woman struggled against his grip on her waist, but she was able to get away. The male then quickly crossed College Street and disappeared behind a building on the westside of the apartment complex. The suspect was described as being a white male, possibly in his 40s, with blonde hair and green eyes. He had a scruffy blonde beard and spoke with a southern accent. He was last ween wearing a long-sleeved black shirt, with blue jeans and Timberland boots. A wallet was also attached by a chain on his jeans.
