A former Centralia resident pleads guilty on a new and lesser charge, inside the Marion County Court, stemming from an alleged home invasion and aggravated discharge of a firearm. 20-year-old Bryce Bradley, formerly of Centralia and currently residing in Belleville, was accused of being one of 3 men who entered a home along the 900 block of East Broadway Street, back in July 2017, which resulted in the exchange of gunfire with the homeowner. During this exchange of gunfire, two males with Bradley and James Powers were struck. That included a 22-year-old male in the abdomen and a 15-year-old male in the groin. Both those males were ultimately airlifted to a St. Louis area hospital for treatment of their injuries. Bradley got arrested a short time later, with Powers arrested a few days later. Both were charged with a Class X felony for home invasion with a firearm, a Class 1 felony for aggravated discharge of a firearm into an occupied structure and a Class 1 felony for residential burglary. Powers plead guilty back in January to 8-years in prison, for the residential burglary. Bradley plead guilty on Wednesday to an added charge of a Class 4 felony for criminal trespass to a residence. All his other charges were dismissed and his sentencing will be on July 18th. A Class 4 felony is punishably by up to one year in prison.
