A Centralia man was arrested on Wednesday, after an altercation occurred with his brother. Reportedly, there was a baseball bat and a sword involved in the fight. Centralia Police responded to a residence along the 700 block of North Beech on Wednesday, at around 1pm, when 45-year-old Dewayne Whipple was arrested. Reports indicate that there was a possible love triangle between Whipple, his brother Dickie and a woman, which reportedly Dewayne ran into at the Farm Fresh store in Centralia. Dewayne went to home along North Beech, when he found the woman reportedly living with Dickie. Dewayne entered the home uninvited and the two brothers began to fight, Dwayne with a sword and Dickie with a bat. Dickie called 9-11, with someone reportedly at his home attempting to stab him with a knife. No injuries occurred from this altercation. Officers arrived to the scene and eventually took Dewayne into custody for charges of aggravated assault, resisting arrest and home invasion. He will remain at the Marion County Jail until formal filing charges are made and for bail to be set.
