The Nashville Police Department responded to 29 calls this past week. On Thursday, July 5th, officers conducted a traffic stop along State Route 127, just south of I-64. After being stopped, 47-year-old Wanda Brown of Herrin was arrested, for failure to appear for an outstanding Washington County warrant for driving while having a suspended license. She was then taken to the Washington County Jail following her arrest. On Sunday, July 8th, two separate incidences occurred, resulting in arrests. The 1st one occurred along South Mill Street, where 30-year-old Heather Lenington of Nashville, was booked for driving while having a suspended license. She also got a citation for operating an uninsured vehicle. The 2nd incident on Sunday was along State Route 127, at Mockingbird Road, where a traffic stop resulted in an arrest. Officers made contact with the driver, identified as 19-year-old Gregory Ponder of Carlyle, and his juvenile passenger. Both Gregory and the passenger were placed under arrest for possession of between 100 to 500 grams of cannabis. They were also charged with possession with intent to deliver 30 to 500 grams of cannabis. Gregory was taken to the Washington County Jail and placed under a felony hold, while the juvenile was charged and released to the custody of his parents, with a pending court date.
