There were 3 accidents that were reported in our area last week. On Thursday, July 12th, officers responded to State Route 127 for a 2-vehicle accident. Timothy Stamps of Nashville was waiting to make a left turn off 127, to Mercantile Drive, when 21-year-old Alexandria Coulom of Whittington, Illinois did not stop and rear ended into his back bumper. Coulom was cited for failing to reduce speed to avoid an accident and for driving while having a suspended license. She was then taken to the Washington County Jail on those two charges. On Friday, July 13th, Nashville PD responded to State Route 127, at Enterprise Avenue, where one vehicle crashed into another. 22-year-old Jessica Doran of Nashville was traveling along 127, when she did not stop in time at a stop light and rear-ended into Micahel Woods of Tuscola. Doran was distracted while driving and thought the light was green, resulting in vehicle damage. She was issued a citation for failing to reduce speed to avoid an accident and for operating an uninsured motor vehicle. The last accident was early on Saturday morning, which resulted in an arrest. 35-year-old Michael “Paul” Baker was attempting to stop in traffic, while westbound on East Holzhauer Drive, when he could not stop in time and rear-ended into a pickup truck, driven by Lori Bowers of Du Bois. The tractor then left the roadway to the right and struck a power pole, causing damage to the pole and the transformer, with both of them falling onto the cab of the tractor. Baker was then arrested by officers for driving under the influence and taken to the Washington County Jail.
