Authorities in Southern Illinois are searching for an inmate, who escaped from the Pulaski County Detention Center in Ullin, Illinois. According to jail officials, 2 inmates escaped from the facility, with one being caught. A description of the escapee on the loose, how the inmates escaped, their identities, when it happened and other details are not being released at this time, since this is an ongoing investigation. Officials say that the escapee who is at large right now is not considered dangerous. According to the Pulaski County Detention Center’s website, the center houses inmates from Pulaski and Alexander counties, as well as for Immigration and Custom Enforcement. This is now the 3rd escape from a Southern Illinois prison this summer. Back in June, 3 inmates escaped from the White County Jail, with one caught within a couple days and the other 2 missing for a few weeks. More recently, 3 juveniles escaped from the Franklin County Juvenile Detention Center, with one caught quickly in Mt. Vernon and due to privacy issues with the juveniles, it is unclear if the other two are still at large.
