3. Centralia police responded to a call, which reportedly was in regard to a shooting that sent a resident to an area hospital for treatment, with a gunshot wound to his foot. According to reports, officers responded to a call of shots being fired along the 300 block of Leafland Road, where a man was shot. The investigation showed that the man was shot by someone, who allegedly was involved in an earlier disturbance in the area. A male subject, who allegedly was involved in the initial disturbance and attempted to flee the area, was arrested for obstruction of justice. The Marion County State’s Attorney’s Office then released the man, since they elected to continue their investigation.
