Police from Centralia arrest 2 females on Tuesday, after they responded to multiple reports of shots fires, where a large group of people had gathered, along the 300 block of North Maple Street. According to reports, at around 830pm on Tuesday, approximately 3 shots were fired in or near a group of 40 to 50 people. Many of those who were gathered were reportedly fighting and arguing among each other. While most of the people left when officers arrived, 2 were arrested for alleged mob action and consumption of liquor by a minor. The two that were arrested included 18-year-old Jazmin Fleener and a 17-year-old juvenile, both of Centralia, with Fleener taken to the Marion County Jail and the juvenile ordered to be held in a juvenile detention center until their court appearance. No injuries were reported from the incident, with help from the Central City Police Department, Wamac Police, Marion County Sheriff’s Office and the K-9 Unit. Those who were involved in the incident were reportedly uncooperative with police, whenever they questioned about the reason for the mob gathering and for the shots being fired. Anyone who can provide any additional information on this incident is asked to contact the Centralia Police Department at 618-533-76-02.
