Illinois Realtors’ reports that Illinois statewide home sales were down by 0.2-percent in the month of August from last year. 7 homes were sold in Washington County last month, which is down by 2 homes or by 22-percent from what we saw in August 2017. In Clinton County, 39 homes were sold in August, up by 13 houses or by 50-percent from last year. The Statewide Median Price in August was right at $202,150, up by 1.1-percent from August 2017. The median is a typical market price where half the homes sold for more and half sold for less. In Washington County, the median price was down by 50-percent, or by $64,500. In 2017, it was at $129,000. The median price in Clinton County was $152,000, up from $119,500 or by 27-percent from August of 2017. So far this year, 63 homes have been sold in Washington County, with an average price of $92,000. Clinton County has 208 homes sold in 2018 so far, with an average price being $135,000. Homes were on the market an average of 45 days in Illinois, down from 58 days in August 2017. In Washington County, homes were on the market for an average of 113 so far this year, up from last year, which was at about 102 days.
