A man from Carbondale was sentenced to 15-years in prison, followed by 3-years of mandatory supervised release, after pleading guilty to an aggravated arson charge last month. The Jackson county State’s Attorney stated that during the early morning hours of August 28th, 2017, 46-year-old Keelan Bush purchased a lighter and gasoline, and used them to ignite a fire at a home along Burke Street in Carbondale. Bush lit a bundle of sticks on a fire, in front of the home, and lit paper items on fire near the door. A nearby citizen saw the flames and immediately called 9-11. Individuals, including children, were present inside the home at the time the fire started. Everyone inside the house were able to evacuate safely. The Carbondale Police Department and the Carbondale Fire Department helped out with the investigation.
