The Nashville High School Board of Education met last night for a regular monthly meeting. At that meeting, the treasurer’s report was presented, which reportedly has the district receiving all categorical payments from the state from last year and all evidence-based payments for this year. Under unfinished business, the board approved a revision to purchase baseball and softball scoreboards. The boards will include a truss on top, but the baseball and softball teams will be responsible of the payment of that addition. Also a quote was given from Print Crazy for under $500 to make the Hornet logo and be placed with the boards. The board agreed to pay for the boards in full, but the extra truss and logos will need to be paid by teams. Two items were tabled in new business. That included the purchase or lease of a new mid-bus and a contract with Bushue (boo-shoe) Human Resources. The mid-bus would cost about $48,500 if purchased brand new or to purchase a lease on a mid-bus. Also the contract with Bushue would be for HR, safety and insurance consulting for the district. A representative from Bushue was at the meeting and answered questions from board members on their service. Both items were tabled until next meeting. The board also approved the risk management plan, which included some new addition, a district audit report and a 5-year review of the IASB policies. Superintendent Brad Turner announced that the 2018 School Report Card will come out on October 31st, which has 4 classifications. This will be the 1st report card for districts from the state. The next board meeting for the NCHS Board will be on Monday, November 19th.
