The Nashville City council met on Thursday for a regular meeting. During the meeting, Jimmy Leonard was presented a plaque, recognizing him as the 1st runner-up as water operator of the year. Mayor Eric Rolf said that this is a very prestigious award and that Leonard is a very valued employee of the city. Leonard was also presented a $250 check for receiving this achievement. The council approved a quote for the purchase of a radar unit for the new squad car for the Police Department, for $1,970. Also a quote was given for a DVR camera system for $4,820. Under the streets department, it was announced that the all trash days were almost identical from last fall. 104 residents used the service with 120 cubic yards of waste, all the same numbers as last year. Leaf bag pickups has already started, which will be every Monday and Friday for residents and last until around the 2nd week of January. Leaves must be in a recyclable paper bag for pick up, with no plastic or recycled plastic bags being accepted. It was presented at the meeting that the golf course load has been fully paid off for their fairway mower, which was for $27,000 back in November of 2017. The next city council meeting in Nashville will be on Thursday, November 1st.
