A high-speed chase early on Tuesday morning led to an arrest of a Centralia man, who reportedly took police on a pursuit that started in downtown Centralia, and ended south of Dix. 21-year-old Brendan Warren was ultimately arrested and charged with an aggravated fleeing and eluding police, possession of a stolen motor vehicle, leaving the scene of a property with damage from an accident and for having no valid driver’s license. According to police from Centralia, the incident began at around 108am on Tuesday, when an officer observed a white truck run a red light along North Locust and Broadway streets. The officer attempted to make a traffic stop, but the driver instead fled and traveled towards Broadway, into an alley, and struck a parked vehicle. The driver, who was identified as Warren, then sped east along Noleman Street, reaching speeds up to at least 70-miles-per-hour in a 30-mile-per-hour zone. Warren then continued east on Route 161, where he turned south on I-57, where speeds went up to 90-miles-per-hour. He was ultimately arrested, after attempting to cross the median of the interstate and at the Dix exit. The truck was reported stolen shortly before the pursuit began, from a home along the 800 block of North College Street.
