The City of Nashville would like to make a couple of announcements.  The 1^st announcement is that Christmas tree pickup will be occurring this Friday, January 4^th.  All tinsel, ribbons, ornaments, etc, must be removed from the trees before they are placed out on the curb.  Trees must be out on the curb before 7am on Friday.  Also effective Monday, January 7^th, which is next Monday, curb side leaf bag collection will be suspended.  Leaves must be in composable paper bags and should be out by 7am.  If you would like to place leaves to the compost site, call the Department of Public Works at 618-327-89-18.  Regular twice-weekly collection will resume sometime in the fall.  So Christmas tree pickup will be done this Friday, before 7am, and the last day of leaf collection in Nashville will be on Monday.
