The Marion County Sheriff’s Office is searching for the driver of an SUV that led deputies to a lengthy high-speed chase on Tuesday night.  According to reports, deputies attempted a traffic stop at around 5pm on Tuesday, along State Route 161 near raccoon School, where instead of stopping, the driver allegedly sped up and headed southbound along Interstate 57, with speeds reaching up to 110 miles-per-hour.  The SUV eventually took the Dix-Irvington Road exit, before heading west on Boyd Lane and Piedmont Road, where the SUV jumped over a ditch and drove into a field, where the driver jumped from the vehicle and fled on foot into a wooded area.  A passenger, who was inside the SUV, was still inside at the time of the incident.  The person was then questioned by police and released.  The SUV was then impounded and law enforcement agents continued their search for the driver.
