A Centralia woman was sentenced to 20-years in federal prison, after she pled guilty to 6 of her 7 drug-related charges.  59-year-old Anthonette “Big Mama” Strowder was one of more than a dozen people who were arrested, in regard to an 8-month investigation on drug trafficking in the Marion County area.  Strowder was the only subject from the 2017 drug sweep that was ultimately charged in federal court.  Of the 7 counts that she was facing, she pled guilty to counts 2 through 7, with all being related to distribution of methamphetamine from June 2017, as well as distribution of cocaine on multiple dates in November 2014.  After pleading guilty on those charges in federal court in East St. Louis last year, she was ordered to turn herself to the US Marshal Service, no later than December 7th, 2018 to wait for her sentence.  She was held in federal prison in Tennessee since that time and on Tuesday was sentenced to prison.  Helping out in the investigation included the Richland County Sheriff’s Office, the Marion County Sheriff’s Office and the Centralia Police Department.
