A man from Murphysboro was apprehended on Wednesday by Centralia Police officers, after multiple area agencies were searching for him in regard to an armed robbery in Du Quoin. 25-year-old Shequel Sleydin, of Murphysboro, was the suspect of an armed robbery on Wednesday afternoon in Du Quoin, with Sleydin reportedly fleeing the scene in a 2008 Navy Blue Chevy Impala. That led to a high-speed chase with officers. Sleydin managed to avoid being captured at the time, with local agencies joining in on the search. A Facebook post was sent by Sesser Police, at around 442pm, with police saying that his vehicle was found and believed to have been involved in the incident. The vehicle sped away from the officer, and was last seen at 450pm. Shortly after 8pm, Centralia police were able to locate the suspect, in the area of 12th Street and Case Street in Wamac. He reportedly then ran on foot from police and headed towards a house, however, officers were able to catch him before entering the home. He was then taken into custody and held by Centralia Police, until officers from Du Quoin arrived to the scene, where they took him to the Perry County Jail
