Illinois Governor JB Pritzker has officially singed a legislation, making Illinois the 11th state in the nation to legalize recreational marijuana.  The Democratic governor signed the legislation on Tuesday in Chicago, which would allow residents to purchase and possess up to 1 ounce, or 30 grams, of marijuana at a time.  No residents could have up to 15 grams.  Illinois joins the 10 other states in the United States in allowing recreational marijuana use, which has been illegal for the past 80 years, and since 1970, when it was federally banned as a narcotic.  Pritzker made legalization as part of his main tenet of his campaign when running for governor this past fall.
