Joan Jackson, 66, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away at 10:00 am October 23, 2022 at Mount Vernon Countryside Manor.

She was born January 21, 1956 in Salem, Illinois to the late Wilburn and Rena (Corrie) Gibson. Joan is survived by her children, Angela Gibson and husband, Rick of Mount Vernon, Mike Jackson of Woodlawn, Kent Jackson and wife, Julie of Mount Vernon, and Kevin Jackson and significant other, Moana Montano of Woodlawn; grandchildren, Zachary Jackson and wife, Kaitlyn, Hailey Jackson, Autumn Rainey, Dakota Gibson, Katrena Gibson, Selena Gibson, Kim Gibson, Kaitlyn Jackson, Alivia Jackson, Hannah Jackson, Devin Jackson and wife, Rosie, Garrin Jackson, and Kadin Jackson; great-grandchildren, Carson Rainey, Lindsey Rainey, Nolan Rainey, Faith Herrington, and Paisley Jackson; and siblings, Lilly Rhodes of Iuka, Illinois, Rebecca Isett and husband, Gene of Mount Vernon, Janice Carroll and husband, Bobby of Mount Vernon, her twin, Jerry Gibson and wife, Nancy of Centralia, and Richard Gibson and wife, Lisa of Centralia. In addition to her parents, Joan was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Jackson; siblings, Shirley Conway, Stella Gibson, Harold Gibson, twins: Dwight Gibson and Donna Romano, Cleta “Diane” Winkler, twins: Harold Gibson and Darell Gibson, Linda Gibson, and twins: Connie Gibson and Bonnie Gibson. Joan was a dedicated CNA for several years. She was of the Pentecostal faith. Joan was blessed with a large, loving family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and adored her.
