Lindell Lee Lowery, 73, of Mt. Vernon, passed away at 5:17 p.m. on Wednesday, October 25, 2022, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon.

He was born on March 21, 1949, in Mt. Vernon, the son of Zona and Adeline (Pepple) Lowery.

Mr. Lowery was employed by Valley Steel in Flora, Plastiflex Company in Centralia and he retired from US Postal Service in 2016, after 28 years of service.

He collected acoustic guitars and enjoyed writing songs and was a member of Orchardville Church.  He attended Mills and Orchardville grade schools, Wayne County High School, and Southern Illinois University at Carbondale.

Lindell is survived by two children, Dr. Jeffrey Lowery and wife Stacey of Newburgh, Indiana, and Sarah Beth Lowery of Evansville, Indiana; five grandchildren, Tanner Lowery, Kylee Lowery, Kennedi Lowery of Newburgh, Indiana, and Regan Lowery and Preslee Ayscue of Evansville, Indiana. He is also survived by a brother, Bill Lowery of Keenes.

Mr. Lowery was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Patricia Ann Lowery.
