FAYETTE COUNTY — A 26-year-old Ramsey man was sentenced Wednesday in Fayette County Court to 15 years in prison after pleading guilty earlier this summer to five of 10 counts of possessing child pornography against him.
Waylon Davis had agreed in June to plead guilty to five of the ten Class 2 felony counts against him in exchange for the other five counts being dismissed, and to the state agreeing to cap sentencing at 25 years.
Davis was arrested in January 2022, after Attorney General Kwame Raoul’s investigators, with the assistance of the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office and Vandalia Police Department, conducted a search of a residence in the 2800 block of North 1500th St. in Fayette and arrested Davis after discovering evidence of online accounts containing child pornography.
Judge Christopher Matoush sentenced Davis Wednesday to serve three years on each of the five counts to be served consecutively, with credit for three days served in the county jail. He also ordered the defendant to serve three years to life on parole,
