EAST ST. LOUIS — A bond revocation hearing was held Thursday in the federal case against a 39-year-old Centralia man indicted on drug and weapons charges.

A federal arrest warrant was issued for Anthony Pierce after he allegedly violated the conditions of his release on numerous occasions.

Court documents show he was located in Centralia and taken into custody on the warrant. Pierce was subsequently transported to the Marion County Jail where he’s being held in federal custody.

He was initially arrested in April on charges of distribution of methamphetamine, possession with the intent to distribute, possession of a firearm in the furtherance of a drug trafficking crime, and possession of a firearm by a felon.

The four-count indictment alleges Pierce, a known felon, possessed a Hi-Point C-9  9 mm firearm, with a partially defaced serial number on occasions in February of 2019, when he distributed meth in Clinton County, Illinois.

A jury trial in the case remains scheduled for January 29 in the East St. Louis Federal Courthouse.
