MARION COUNTY — A 20-year-old Odin man was ordered held in the Marion County Jail Thursday after he was formally charged in court with criminal sexual abuse.

Landon R. Furlong was arrested Wednesday on the Class 2 felony charge accusing him of sexually abusing a minor five years or more younger than him.

The State’s Attorney’s Office filed a motion seeking to have Furlong detained pending trial in the case and that motion was granted.

Furlong is next scheduled to appear on January 3 in Marion County Court for a preliminary hearing and first appearance with his court-appointed attorney.
