WILLIAMSON COUNTY — A 54-year-old former Johnston City teacher and coach pleaded guilty Tuesday to multiple charges in a case accusing him of sexual assault and abuse.

Trevor Clark was first arrested in 2019 and charged with five counts Class 2 felony aggravated criminal sexual abuse and four counts Class 1 felony criminal sexual assault of a person between the ages of 13 and 17 who was under his supervision. Clark pleaded guilty Tuesday in Williamson County Court to four of the five Class 2 charges.

Bond in the case had been set at $500,000 and he was released after posting $50,000 cash bail.

At the time, Illinois State Police asked for any other possible victims to come forward and approximately one year later, a second case was filed against Clark, this one charging him with two Class 1 felonies for criminal sexual assault of a person between the ages of 13 and 17 who was under his supervision.

Bond in the second case was set at $250,000 and Clark was released after posting $25,000 cash bail.

Clark was in his second stint as Johnston City Baseball’s head coach when he was arrested in 2019.

He had first served in that position from 1998 to 2011 and returned to that role in 2014 until his arrest in 2019.

Sentencing is scheduled for April 11, at which time the remaining charges will be addressed.
